March 2008 Canadian Geographic Magazine Article by Canoe/Ski owner adventure tour operator Cliff Speer.Story about a Canoe Adventure Down the South Saskatchewan River, taking in the Historic sites along the way. (From Duck Lake to just West of Prince Albert, the South Saskatchewan River and North Saskatchewan Rivers run almost parrellel until they JOIN at the FORKS Recreation site and become one River - the Saskatchewan, which continues all the way to Lake Winnipeg and into the Hudson Bay). These were vital transportation systems for the plus 8-10,000 year history of First Nations in this region and the 200 plus years of the Hundson Bay Company, the North West Comapny and the Free Traders of the FUR TRADE ERA. There were hundreds of Forts along the banks of the Saskatchewan Rivers.
Contact Information about Boat Rentals in Prince Albert and at some of our
nearby Lake lands are listed here. Enjoy your adventure on the Water !
There are a few places to find Antiques in Prince Albert District.
Looking for the unusual - download this 2 page booklet/brochure and become an 'antique' hunter.
We also suggest you watch the paper for Garage sales and Auctions - half the fun is finding that
hidden gem - the other half is getting outside and enjoying the scenery.
