28 in CITY PARKS: * Kinsmen Park has a supervised playground 7 days a week where visitors are welcome; picnic sites and fire pits within the centre of the park; south end of the park has a large and beautiful water park (* Little Red River Park is also within city limits, 3 kms from the North Bridge on Hwy 55 east, offers great sand hills (sledding in winter), suspension bridge, many kilometeres of hiking, biking, and nature trails (cross country skiing in winter), and a year round lodge for refreshment and public washrooms; local residents name this a favorite for picnic (fire pits, and wood provided), and Canada names it one of the countries prettiest parks - try the 'new' Kristi Lake Nature Trail ..." 10,000 years ago a 1600 metre thick mantle of glacial ice cloaked the area where you now stand"... the brochure begins.
